WORLD PREMIERE - A COMPLETELY REDESIGNED TRANSMISSION
The Heritage Altitude Touring abandons the traditional mechanical transmission in favour of electronic management.
Developed and manufactured in Annecy, PERS technology eliminates the chain, belt, derailleur and gear shift. Torque distribution is now controlled electronically. No more mechanical breakdowns during challenging rides.
And yet, the sensation remains natural. During the first trials, many say: “It feels like there’s a chain.”
That is precisely the objective.
TWO-WHEEL DRIVE
Two-wheel drive optimises traction in demanding environments: forest paths, loose ground, steep slopes.
The assistance adapts in real time to changes in grip. This dynamic management improves stability, precision and crossing ability.
This configuration also paves the way for future software upgrades, made possible by the on-board electronic architecture.
REGENERATION AND REDUCED MAINTENANCE
The PERS system incorporates regenerative braking activated by backpedalling. During deceleration, energy is recovered and fed back into the battery, up to 25%, improving the bike’s range.
This principle also reduces stress on the mechanical braking system. The brake pads are used less, wear is reduced and maintenance intervals are extended.
The absence of a chain, derailleur or belt also eliminates any maintenance related to the transmission. Fewer moving parts, less mechanical stress, fewer interventions.
Technology thus brings about a twofold evolution: energy efficiency and ease of use in everyday life.
INTEGRATED CONNECTIVITY
Heritage Altitude Touring incorporates a comprehensive connected platform:
-
Built-in electronic anti-theft device
-
Permanent GPS tracking
-
Remote diagnosis
-
Over-the-air software updates via the cloud
Remote updates enable optimisation of support settings, improved performance, and integration of new features.
This connectivity transforms the bicycle into a system that can be upgraded remotely and transparently for the user.
A CYCLE DESIGNED FOR ENGAGEMENT
The Heritage Altitude Touring’s architecture is based on enduro-style geometry. The steering angle, wheelbase and weight distribution have been designed to offer stability at high speeds, precision on technical sections and control on steep slopes. The carbon frame combines structural rigidity with controlled stress absorption to maintain the dynamic consistency of the whole.
The suspension is provided by BOS Suspension, a French benchmark with a proven track record in the mountain bike world championships.
Braking is provided by Magura MT7 brakes, which are valued for their progressive power and consistency.
The wheels are mounted on DT Swiss rims, combined with Schwalbe Eddy Current 27.5 x 2.8 tyres, a size designed to optimise traction and shock absorption.
The whole forms a coherent platform, where embedded technology and mechanical expertise interact without compromise.
A PLATFORM DESIGNED TO EVOLVE
Since its unveiling in 2024, the project has evolved around three main areas:
- improvement in dynamic behaviour
- software and electronic optimisation
- reduction in suspended masses
The current phase focuses on industrial consolidation and preparations for commercialisation planned for 2026.
The Heritage Altitude Touring is not just the introduction of a new model. It inaugurates a technological platform designed as a foundation for the evolution of future generations of electric bikes from Ateliers HeritageBike.
